When a career inspires the renovation of a modern condo in Outremont
A new chapter in their professional lives began for our clients, and they had to relocate for work. They chose Outremont as their new home. More than just an update, it was a reinvention: optimized storage for busy mornings, a convivial island for relaxed evenings, and a design that inspires creativity.

The issue
Our clients purchased a two-level condo nestled in a century-old plex. Aging and outdated, this Outremont residence required complete optimization and updating to reflect their new life in Montreal.
The need
Our mission was to design a functional space that reflected our clients’ personalities—true cooking enthusiasts who work from home. One of their main desires was to add a beautifully designed bathroom to the master bedroom.
In addition to the condo’s outdated features, we also had to work around the renovations underway in the apartment below. Close collaboration was therefore essential to ensure a smooth and harmonious process.
The concept
Our concept was based on a few key principles:
- Secure the three bare floors of this century-old building to protect its original structure.
- Replacing the basement slab and the main beam
- Open up the ground floor as much as possible by removing the laundry room and bathroom.
- Redesign the upstairs space to add a bathroom next to the master bedroom.
Notes on the kitchen
On the ground floor, the space has been optimized to become much more open and bright. It’s the perfect place to take energizing breaks during teleworking days.
Notes on the bathroom
Upstairs, a bold reconfiguration has created a superb master bedroom and a sleek bathroom, enhanced by high-end finishes. With all the professional changes our clients have been through, this relaxation space is now more appreciated than ever.
