A tailor-made renovation
Eager to create her own personal space, this professional undertook a custom renovation of her home. The goal: to be able to fully relax there between trips and welcome her loved ones in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The issue
This custom renovation project aimed to completely redesign the duplex to meet sometimes conflicting needs. The goal was to create open and welcoming living spaces while preserving intimate and functional areas such as our client’s bedroom.
The initial location of the staircase, which was not optimized, presented a major constraint. Completely redesigning the flow between the ground floor and the basement was an exciting challenge that allowed us to come up with an innovative plan, perfectly suited to the client’s aspirations. In addition, the existing style did not reflect her personality, requiring a complete aesthetic reconfiguration.
The need
The challenge for this renovation was immense, but the stakes were high: preserving the soul of this family home while transforming it into a modern and functional space, perfectly suited to our client’s current and future needs.

The concept
Our concept was based on a few key principles:
- Increase living space by renovating the basement
- Configure the basement space to create a bright garden-level space.
- Open up the kitchen to increase the brightness of the ground floor.
- Designing a personal gym by maximizing light in a small basement space
Notes on the kitchen
To infuse the kitchen with softness, we incorporated subtle curves that evoke femininity in the decor. The rounded countertop is part of this strategy; it creates a harmonious contrast with the kitchen cabinets, breaking up the rigidity and inviting conviviality. This approach maintains a classic, clean look while injecting a softness that makes the space warmer and more welcoming.
Notes on the dining room
Large patio doors flood the dining room with light, creating an airy and welcoming atmosphere. To preserve privacy, a light veil has been installed. It diffuses daylight while protecting from outside views.
The round table is ideal for entertaining, as it encourages conversation and unparalleled conviviality. Everyone is on an equal footing, which facilitates conversation and creates memorable moments.
The whole space is both open and intimate, perfect for bright lunches during the day and warm dinners with friends.
