Bringing history-filled interiors back to life is our passion. For this project, the challenge was to modernize while preserving the soul and unique character of this house. We redesigned the spaces for greater fluidity and light, incorporating contemporary elements without ever betraying the original spirit. The result: a perfect harmony between past and present.

Our clients wanted to preserve the historic character of this Villeray home during the renovation. Its space, once confined and dark, now aspired to openness and light. The lack of storage was a major challenge, but their wish was clear: to preserve the soul and unique Montreal look.
The need
The challenge for this renovation was immense, but the stakes were high: the aim was to preserve the soul of this family home while transforming it into a modern, functional space, perfectly suited to our clients’ current and future needs.
- Open up the ground floor living space to modernize it by replacing the existing kitchen with a new functional, warm, bright, and practical kitchen.
- Increase brightness throughout the house
- Converting the basement into a multifunctional space
- Add a bathroom to the house

Our concept was based on a few key principles:

- Configure the basement space to create a bright garden-level space.
- Open up the kitchen to increase the brightness of the ground floor.
- Designing a personal gym by maximizing light in a small basement space
