Renovate so you don't have to move
This couple was at a crossroads: renovate or move? Since the structure of the house was sound and they liked the neighborhood, they ultimately decided to redesign their space to create their dream home without having to leave their surroundings.

The issue
Our clients wanted to update their 1960s home, which they felt was too compartmentalized for their taste. Having lived there for a long time, they wanted to change the decor without having to relocate. With a child and two dogs, they needed a space that was both modern and sustainable, a place where they could thrive for many years to come.
The need
At the heart of our design concept was opening up the ground floor space and letting in light. In addition to transforming multiple rooms, we wanted to optimize the home so that our clients would feel like they were living in a brand new house. A perfect blend of beauty and practicality, without compromise.
The concept
Designed for family needs that may change over time, our concept included several important actions:
- Modernize the kitchen to make it the centerpiece of the open-concept space.
- Add windows to maximize brightness
- Incorporate high-quality, durable, and timeless materials
Notes on the kitchen
The kitchen is now a gathering space on the ground floor where functionality takes the center stage. The addition of two large patio doors on the south side fills it with light for a very long period of the day.

With two dogs at home, heated slate flooring is a wise choice, as it is completely scratch-resistant.
