A reinvented home
At Town of Mount-Royal, the ground floor and courtyard have been transformed into ideal reception areas. With an open kitchen and a courtyard designed as its natural extension, the space is a permanent invitation to conviviality and the creation of unforgettable moments.
Details of the project
The issue
Located in a prime neighborhood, we undertook the optimization of a ground floor and its exterior. With the children now teenagers, our goal was to enhance their backyard, make their daily lives easier, and build an environment where the family is the center of attention.
The need
Having natural light all year round, a welcoming courtyard, and an open-plan dream kitchen for entertaining guests were at the top of our clients’ priorities. Not to mention creating an enhanced space that would appeal to these cooking enthusiasts.
The concept
Our concept was based on a few key principles:
- Open up the space on the ground floor to make it more impressive.
- Remove the load-bearing wall between the kitchen and the dining room to allow direct access to the courtyard.
- Orient the kitchen countertop toward the courtyard to enjoy an inspiring view while preparing meals.
- Extend the living area to the lush garden, in addition to adding an outdoor kitchen and a pavilion near the pool.

Now, a 20-foot opening leads directly to the courtyard. It’s a bold decision that makes the space more welcoming and creates a seamless connection to the outdoors.

Le salon est devenu la pièce maîtresse de la maison, combinant chic et confort. On a remplacé le foyer existant par un foyer à gaz écologique, que l’on a habillé de grands panneaux en Maxfine. Cette porcelaine, qui imite parfaitement le marbre de Carrare, donne à l’espace une ambiance haut de gamme et sophistiquée.

Notes the living room
The living room has become the centerpiece of the home, combining style and comfort. The existing fireplace was replaced with an eco-friendly gas fireplace, which was clad with large Maxfine panels. This porcelain, which perfectly imitates Carrara marble, gives the space a high-end, sophisticated feel.
