The Art of Residential Interior Design

In residential design, renovating a room must always reflect the needs and personality of the occupant. The goal is to create a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, while ensuring its longevity.

From inspiration to finish, our designers carefully consider everything to achieve this goal. The key to achieving this goal is empathy for the clientele and a commitment to authenticity in the creative approach.

What is good residential design?

Good interior design should evoke emotions and inspire dreams. A renovated room shouldn’t just be functional. It should also allow us to be physically and psychologically comfortable; in short, it should be adapted to our lifestyle.

This is where customization comes in. With the right general contractor, furniture and decorations can be custom-designed. This way, all the objects created will be tailored to our unique personality.

Good residential design adapts the space and its elements to the occupant who lives there, not the other way around.

And how do you find THE right residential designer?

You can recognize a good residential designer by their signature style and adaptability. When you hire a designer, it’s because you’re looking for tailored support.

A good designer must also be a good listener and show empathy. This ensures that the final look of the room meets your needs. At ESPÉ, we combine these two qualities. Our designers are designer-entrepreneurs. All conceptualized projects are also carried out by our team.

The expertise and creativity of our designers support our clients throughout the interior design project. They also work to anticipate potential challenges to greatly reduce the likelihood of complications.

So how do you think about a room?

Finally, we want to talk to you about the occupant and the space.

Reflecting on the Occupant
A room shouldn’t be modified solely for its own aesthetic appeal. On the contrary, the occupant must be at the center of the design. The right approach is to get to know the person who lives there. We’re interested in their passions, their lifestyle, and what they enjoy aesthetically.

Do you have a penchant for oenology? We’ll think of a way to express that in the design. If it’s sports, we’ll try to integrate training equipment organically into the space. The possibilities are endless.

Reflecting on the Space
Only after reflecting on the occupant will the space be reimagined, taking into account the constraints of the room or the budget. The placement of walls, furniture, decor, and accessories can all be reviewed based on the available space and your goals.

If the space is small, the designer can find ways to enlarge and open it up. If the walls aren’t optimally arranged, they can be redesigned or two adjacent rooms merged.
